Worldwide Cisco Systems of the United States has been taking up the number one position for sales of telephone systems. Whether you are in the United States, Australia, Asia, or Europe if you visit a known company, you are likely to see a Cisco IPT (IP Telephone) system installed in many firms. Apparently, the story has changed in the UK in 2012. According to MZA, Canadian based Mitel has taken the crown. Comms Business UK reports-
Mitel has surpassed Avaya and Cisco to seize the #1 market share position in the UK in the IP extensions market, according to the most recent quarterly market share report from MZA Ltd.
“After several quarters of solid progress, in Q2 Mitel claimed more than 26 percent of the market for IP extension shipments in the UK to take the #1 market share position,” said Stephanie Watson, general manager of MZA Ltd. The report is based on shipments from Q2 2012 ended June 30 2012.
