The Evering is a revolutionary product that integrates a contactless payment chip into a stylish, wearable ring that doesn’t require any charging. It’s a game-changer for those living in or visiting Japan, where contactless payments are increasingly popular. In Osaka, ring owners can even use it as their train pass . Here’s a detailed review focusing on its convenience, security, and ease of signup. Of course, there are many other options out there such as QuickPay, Paypay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and many other competitors they have to think about.
One of our managers won a black evering ring at a year-end event. AINEO loves trying out new technology so we decided to take Actually, Evering for a ride and post our thoughts on the product. Evering actually seems to be introduced to the market for three years now.
Convenience: A New Level of Seamless Payments

Evering shines in the realm of convenience. Wearing your payment method on your finger eliminates the need to carry a wallet, phone, or even a card. It’s particularly useful for situations where carrying extra items might be inconvenient, such as during a run, a quick errand, or when traveling light. No wallet? No problem!
Using the Evering is as simple as tapping your hand against a payment terminal, and it supports the FeliCa system, which is ubiquitous in Japan. Whether you’re at a convenience store, on public transport, or dining out, Evering ensures a hassle-free experience. Its waterproof design also means you don’t need to remove it for activities like washing hands or swimming, making it truly versatile.
One thing the manual tells you is don’t wear your Evering into the sauna as apparently the heat may damage it’s chip
Security: Peace of Mind in Every Transaction
Evering is as secure as it is convenient. It uses contactless payment technology similar to credit cards with an NFC chip. Transactions are encrypted, and since there’s no physical card to lose, the risk of theft or cloning is significantly reduced.
Additionally, Evering does not store sensitive personal information directly on the device, and any payment errors can be easily managed via its companion app. Users can deactivate or reactivate the ring remotely if it’s lost, adding an extra layer of security.
Ease of Signup: Quick and Simple
They say the signup process for Evering is impressively straightforward. All you need is an internet connection and a compatible smartphone. After purchasing the ring, users simply download the companion app, link their payment method, and activate the ring. The interface is user-friendly, guiding you through the setup in a matter of minutes. In our case, it actually was not as smooth as we hoped. The account on the Evering website is not the same as the account you create on the mobile app. It’s two different accounts so users may get confused with that. In our case, everything was not as smooth as we hoped. Our sign up coupon did not work initially, so we had to contact Evering marketing to reset the coupon. Also, we found that the account you create on their website is not connected with the account you make on their app (their app is only available on the Japan app store and only in Japanese).
However, one drawback is that Evering currently supports only specific payment methods, such as prepaid e-money accounts, which may limit its appeal to international users unfamiliar with Japan’s payment systems. Expanding support for global credit cards could make it even more attractive.

you can charge and see the history on the app.
Final Verdict: A Must-Have for Modern Living in Japan
Evering is an excellent choice for anyone who values convenience and cutting-edge technology. Its seamless usability, robust security, and ease of signup make it a standout product. While its compatibility with limited payment methods might be a hurdle for some, the Evering’s practicality far outweighs this minor drawback.
Whether you’re a tech-savvy resident or a frequent visitor to Japan, Evering is a convenient purchase that’s likely to become an essential part of your daily life if you want to carry minimal items on your person.
There are so many ways to pay these days. Evering is a great idea. It’s convenient as all you have to carry is your ring in order to buy things at pretty much any store that takes credit cards with a touch point of sale (POS). Do remember that the edge of the ring needs to be fully pointed at the POS pad as if the ring is sitting on the pad.
We’ll continue our testing! Thanks Evering for the chance to test your product.
