Bright, Quick, & Flexible

It is amazing how much we rely on batteries in our lives these days.  From the watch on your wrist to the cells under the floorboards of your electric vehicles.  With the astronomical price increases of Apple for their iPhones, you definitely want to make sure you can get the longest life out of your smartphones, notebook computers, sports watches, headphones… and anything else you use regularly.

If you are running lithium iron batteries then it is probably a good idea to get the longest usage out of those batteries that you can.  One common theme that is coming up recently is two points-

  1. Charge your devices less frequently
  2. Charge your devices to 80% (Not fully)

The concept of charging your device (or in this case car) to less than 100% is nothing new to Tesla drivers.  Tesla recommends to keep your car (a device now) plugged in when you’re not driving it.  They must have been on to something because now Apple is recommending the same thing.  When you are charging your EV, for most versions, you are recommended to charge to just 80% for daily use.  They only recommend charging to more than 80% when you are going on a road trip or driving farther.

Devices are getting more expensive recently. Whether it be Apple, Samsung, or even the mainland Chinese brands.  If you would like to get the longest use out of your technology, remember these two points and you will probably get 3 to 5 years or more of use.
